How to be a Successful Business Owner

successful business owner

I’ve talked about the subject before on how to be a successful business owner when you never seem quite ready to implement the winning strategy.  There always seems to be a reason why you can’t take your business to the next level.  T. Harv Eker would say “You either have reasons or results”. Reasons are no more than fear disguising itself as excuses.

I see business owners all the time who get stuck in thinking they need to learn just a little more before they implement action even though they already know enough to become a successful business owner. The majority of business owners get stuck because of their fears. (more…)

Planning For 2017

Planning for 2017

If you’re not planning for 2017, you’re planning for failure.  The new year is a good time to take a look at your wins from the prior year and your list of things you need to change or work on in the coming year.

If things aren’t going as well as you would like in your business, don’t bury your head in the sand and hope for the best or you’ll end up like K-Mart, Blockbuster, Polaroid and many more who are disappearing. (more…)

Five Tactics to Handling Confrontation

Handling confrontation isn’t something most people dream about doing in their business, but the longer you’re an owner, the more likely it is that you’ll strongly disagree with a vendor, employee, client, or competitor.

Avoiding the issue seldom works as a strategy. Second-guessing someone else’s motives also rarely works. And taking the “my way or the highway” approach typically only makes things worse.

Top Tips for SEO

seo-tipsGenerating traffic and leads is the top marketing challenge most companies face, according to the 2016 State of Inbound Report. From what I see with my clients, it’s because they don’t understand SEO (search engine optimization).

How to Give Your Website a Tune-up

Your website is the most important marketing tool you own.

If you don’t do a website tune-up on a regular basis, you’re probably losing customers.

Website neglect starts out innocently. You’re busy. Your site is still getting some traffic. You haven’t kept up with the latest trends and don’t know if you need to or not. Other things are “asking” for your attention in a more noticeable way.
